Suppose you are working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as an engineer or technician. In that case, you need to register with the Saudi council of engineers at the time of your Iqama renewal. It is essential and legally required to mention your work profession in your documents. Also, if you want to change your profession on your Iqama, you still need to follow the same procedure.
The registration process demands effort and time, but you will be working with peace after the SCE membership registration. We have explained the entire process and the requirements that will give you an idea beforehand and save your time.
Requirements for SCE Registration
Here is a complete list of necessary documents that you will need at the time of registration.
- Your original passport’s scanned copy
- Your original Iqama’s scanned copy
- Your recent photographs
- Your Academic Transcripts or Marksheets
- An authorization letter from the Saudi Council of Engineers
- Letter of Introduction from the employer. It should clearly mention your name (same as the Iqama) in English and Arabic, your gross monthly salary, joining date, and iqama number with a request form to change your profession to engineer. Besides, the letter must be attested by the chamber of commerce
- Your latest Degree/Diploma/Certification that must be attested by the Saudi Embassy
Registration Process of Saudi Council of Engineers
If you have all the documents, the registration process wouldn’t be an issue. First, visit the SCE website and fill the registration form. Now SCE will ask you to upload your documents, and it should be scan copies with your pictures. Please be careful filling the form and check thrice before moving to the next steps.
Fee for SCE Registration
When you going to upload the documents, you probably will receive an SMS or email with a voucher of Riyal 500. It will be the fee to process your application only. However, the total fee for SCE registration is around SR 1250 for engineers, and the registration will last for three years only.
The process doesn’t end here, and once you pay the fee, you will get a ticket number against your registration request by SCE. If you don’t understand anything, you can call the Saudi council of engineers at the business hours and ask them for your next steps.
So, when your registration completes along with the submission of all the mandatory documents, you will receive an email or text message from SCE to deposit membership fee costs around SR 750 through SADAD.
Membership
You will receive your temporary membership though, and your company will help you to make it permanent with your profession. Provide the temporary membership number to your HR officer, and he will take care of everything. Soon you will receive a notification by MOI about your change profession on your Iqama. Now you can work legally as an engineer in any reputable company in Saudi Arabia.
